At the Fountain Hills Library, what matters most often goes beyond the shelves. It shows up in the excitement of a child finishing a reading challenge, a neighbor stumbling onto a new favorite author or a room filling for a community event. Together, those moments give the space its rhythm and reflect the work of a dedicated group quietly expanding what the library can be.
The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library, formed in 1986, helps fund programs, services and enhancements that extend beyond what is covered by the Maricopa County Library budget. Operating independently, the organization relies on memberships, donations, fundraising efforts and its resale bookstore to broaden what the library can offer.
“Our objective is that the library stays a vibrant and welcoming place for the whole community,” said Wendy Schellberg, events and publicity director. “Our commitment extends to fostering lifelong learning and encouraging a love of reading across all age groups.”
