Bettyann L. Sheridan, born on Feb. 22 1932, after a lengthy illness passed peacefully in her sleep at home with her loving husband, Gerard, at her bedside on July 6, 2017.
Betty was very proud of her very large family which included many grandchildren, great grandchildren and even 3 great-great grandchildren. Bettyann was preceded in death by her younger brother, Donald, and in addition to her husband is survived by her children, Karen Warner, Jerry Sheridan, Donald Sheridan, M.D., and her brother, Brad Martin, and sisters, Leigh Brewster and Valerie LaGiglia.
Bettyann was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Donald and Louise Martin and raised in both Brooklyn and Dix Hills, Long Island. She met Gerard A. Sheridan, a New York State Trooper at the time, and it was love at first sight. Bettyann and Jerry went on to get married and have their children, Karen Warner, Jerry Sheridan, Donald Sheridan, M.D. and Michael Breen, whom Bettyann raised as her own.
As Jerry came closer to retirement from NYPD he and Bettyann made their first visit to Fountain Hills and fell in love with the area. They bought their first piece of property in 1975 on Richwood Drive but ultimately found the piece they would call home on Boxcar Drive. Construction was started and they moved into their dream home in 1976.
Bettyann was so proud to be considered a “Pioneer Family” of Fountain Hills. She and Jerry loved Fountain Hills so much that her entire family, including her parents, brother, sisters, all of their children and many friends followed over the years. She was truly considered the matriarch of the family and will be forever missed and loved by all of those whose lives she touched.
