A big thank you to the community and veterans of Fountain Hills and all the volunteers.
On Saturday, July 20, American Legion Post 58 held a benefit for the Fallen 19 firefighters with much success. The benefit raised more than $5,500 to date and was highlighted by members of the Fountain Hills and Fort McDowell firefighters honoring the attendees with the firefighters prayer.
Immediately following the prayer, Taps was played by a Post 58 member. The evening included a silent auction and numerous raffle items.

As bar manager for Post 58, it was gratifying for me to coordinate this event and see all the support.
Donations for the Fallen 19 will be accepted at the post through Friday, July 26. Once the final tally has been made, I, accompanied by Post 58 members, will present 19 checks to a firefighter representative at the Prescott station in which the 19 young men were assigned.
If interested in assisting the Post 58 efforts, please contact me at 480-837-5958. American Legion Post 58 is located at 16837 Parkview in Fountain Hills.
