Ballots due in the mail

The voting process for the Town of Fountain Hills primary property tax ballot question is well underway with election day next Tuesday, May 15.

Election officials say that to assure ballots are received in time for tally they should be back in the mail by today, Wednesday, May 9.

Ballots must be received by Maricopa County Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, May 15, in order to be counted.

For those who might have a problem with a lost or spoiled ballot, or simply failed to receive one they expected, the Fountain Hills Community Center will serve as a ballot center for this election. It will operate daily, including Saturday and Sunday, through Monday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be open on election day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters may drop off their ballot at the ballot center rather than use the mail or even cast a ballot there if they prefer. If someone casts a ballot in person, the ballot sent in the mail will be voided. There will also be a sealed ballot box for drop off at Town Hall.

If voters are interested in following their ballot through the voting process they may go to maricopa.vote and sign up to receive text or email notification of ballot tracking.

Tracking begins with the time the county mails out the ballots to provide an estimated date the voter will receive it. It will also tell voters when their ballot is received back at the county and is ready for signature verification, when that verification is complete and the ballot is ready to be counted. Visit maricopa.vote for information.
