Back to School bash gets wet and wild Friday

Be sure to bring your swim suit for the town’s free Back 2 School Bash family event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, at Four Peaks Park.
“Just because school is back in session does not mean that the summer fun has to end,” said the town’s Community Services Department’s staff organizing the evening.
The event will include water slides, inflatable and yard games, music and food trucks.
Have you ever wanted to dunk your favorite teacher? Middle School teacher Chris Peterson, High School Principal Cain Jagodzinski and Superintendent Dr. Patrick Sweeney have volunteered to be dunked. Others will be joining them.
Rural Metro Fire Department will bring a fire truck for youngsters to explore. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputies will have a patrol car for inspection.
Water and Ice will cook kettle corn and serve Italian ice. A 2 Fat Guys food truck will have 32 different types of grilled cheese sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, fish and chips.
Thrivent Financial will produce safety identification cards for the children to take home.
The Town will raffle off $10 discount vouchers for fall and winter recreation classes.
Parking will be limited. Participants are encouraged to park in the Four Peaks north field parking lot. Overflow parking will be available along Del Cambre Avenue.
