Avenue work is under way

The fence around the Avenue of the Fountains median was installed Monday morning, making way for construction to begin on a renovation project.

Town officials say crews will begin immediately on Tuesday morning with the removal of 30 trees in the median. The project is to include the planting of 60 new trees along with new water features, public art niches benches and plaza seating.

The $1.5 million project is under the direction of Low Mountain Construction and is expected to take about six months to complete.
