The Fountain Hills Activity Center will host a presentation – Asthma Emergency Care: What can I do? – at the Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn about Asthma treatment, how to recognize and control the symptoms and what medications can be used.
Program presenter Donna Matlach has a Doctorate of Ministry and Pneumo Nouthetic Counseling. She is the author of Phoebe the Pug asks “Is my Asthma Challenging?” This is a children’s book written to increase the awareness, understanding and patient empowerment for those living with asthma.
Dr. Matlach lives with severe asthma and has leveraged her own patient journey to inspire others. Her book is distributed by the Allergy and Asthma Network to thousands of children, school nurses and healthcare providers across the U.S. Dr. Matlach has spoken on radio and TV interviews as an advocate for asthma as well as participated globally promoting cognizance of this disease from a patient’s point of view.
Pre-registration is required. The program is free for 2019 Activity Center members with a $5 fee non-members. Space is limited so contact the Fountain Hills Activity Center at 480-816-5226 to register.
