The Matthew Community at Church of the Ascension is collecting household items to help veterans establish apartments after transitioning out of MANA House.

MANA (Marines, Army, Navy and Air Force) is a 49-bed transitional facility for veterans in Phoenix.

Items will be accepted before masses on March 25 and 26.

Suggested items are new or gently used kitchen supplies (pots, pans, flatware, dishes and kitchen towels); bedding (twin size), bathroom articles (towels, wash cloths, plastic shower curtains) and monetary gifts to purchase bus passes or other items.

Last year new microwave ovens were donated. Don’t donate anything that you would not use.

MANA staff works with veterans to overcome barriers while rebuilding their lives. They provide clean and safe living facilities and assist veterans to find employment, pursue education or complete the process to receive veterans' benefits.

Items also may be dropped off at Church of the Ascension, 16215 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
