The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery will hold a demonstration Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., led by jewelry artist Julie Gilbert.

“I’ve always been a “handmade” kind of person,” says Gilbert, who made her first garment at the age of seven on her mother’s sewing machine. “My jewelry making began when I made a few pieces of jewelry for my kiddo’s high school events.”

Relocating to Arizona in 2009 brought the opportunity to enhance design capabilities through the tutelage of local, national and international jewelry artists, says Gilbert.

“I am impressed with the healing properties of natural stones,” she said. “I always feel especially gratified when clients are excited about wearing and gifting what I have had the passion to create.”

The gallery is located at 16858 E. Avenue of the Fountains and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
