I have always recognized and appreciated Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Hispanic community, which is close to 3 million people in Arizona, is vital to our state. I am proud that one of our respected leaders in Fountain Hills and the state of Arizona, Ambassador Enrique Melendez, received a proclamation honoring Hispanic Heritage Month from the Fountain Hills mayor.
It should be noted that I have known Ambassador Melendez for over 34 years, including when he served my administration while I was the sheriff of Maricopa County.
