Arizona population increasing, but nothing like years past

About two decades ago, Surprise was the fastest growing city in the entire nation for a couple years in a row.

And while Arizona is not experiencing rapid growth at quite that explosive level, data indicates the state’s population is still climbing at a steady rate.

According to the World Population Review, Arizona’s population is projected to climb past 7.7 million in 2026, continuing a yearslong growth trend fueled by migration, job opportunities and housing demand, according to newly compiled estimates and projections.
