Are more apartments needed in Fountain Hills?

And if so, how many?

The discussion surrounding the proposed Sandor Village at Four Peaks apartment project in recent weeks has raised the question as to how many apartment dwelling units, or rental properties, are in Fountain Hills, and how many are necessary.

Based on figures related to occupancy provided by Economic Development Director Amanda Jacobs,  occupancy rates for apartments in the community range well above 90%, which by most industry standards indicates no vacancy.

Comments during discussions before the Town Council and Planning and Zoning Commission by Sandor representatives and even other apartment developers indicate that Fountain Hills could use some additional apartment units.
