Wow! I just returned home from the art fair. I looked to see how far the promised Park Place Phase II and III Apartments were coming along. Instead, I saw only a Republican political booth with cardboard images of Donald and Melania. Across that entire empty field, no evidence of construction. Even the construction fencing has been removed!
I remember our new mayor, Gerry Friedel, assuring the town that construction would begin last spring. I was happy to learn that unsightly horror of an empty field in the middle of town would be ending.
Now the developer is asking for an extension on his building permits so he can complete the financing, right after the town approved an extension until Dec. 31, 2025. And this has been going on for like seven years, across different mayors and councils.
