The Ladies in Fellowship Together (LIFT) from Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church sponsored a Christmas Angel Tree project again this year, as has been their tradition for many Christmas seasons.
Church members selected an Angel tag describing a gift for a specific child, purchased and wrapped those gifts and set them under the tree, making Christmas a little brighter this year for many youngsters.
The wrapped gifts are being given to Des Colores Battered Women and Children's Shelter in Phoenix. Des Colores provides emergency shelter for minority women and children who are victims of domestic violence, offering transitional housing for program participants.
