Our dear and beloved Fred is wrapped in the arms of angels and is singing Amazing Grace with our lord Jesus Christ.

Fred fought the good fight and God finally called him home Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.

Fred served in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served on USS The Sullivans, The USS Constellation, and The USS Hamner. He served 20 years and retired in San Diego, Calif. in 1970. Fred was awarded multiple medals for bravery and meritorious service awards and was a true American hero and we were all so very proud of him.

After his enlistment Fred was a construction worker for 20 years in San Diego. The hardest working man we all knew and loved. After retirement Fred and his wife enjoyed the life of RV'ing for 10 years and settled in Fountain Hills to enjoy the good life with family and multiple grandchildren whom Fred loved more than anything.

His cooking abilities and amazing sense of humor is going to be missed by all. Fred was born June 28, 1932 in Washington, D.C. to Augustine and Ruby Simpson.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy McClain Simpson; daughters, Kimmie Tebbe of San Diego, Robbi Raher of Escondido, Calif.; step-children, Monica McCall Shadle, Debra Howard, Paul Sorenson, Kevin Sorenson, Jeff Sorenson, Chris Sorenson; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
