Adolph, a 32-year retired Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Marie Sabo. Al is survived by his two children, Gerald Klansek of Avoca, Pennsylvania, and Laura Riley of Tampa, Florida, along with four grandchildren, Linden, Tessa, Stephanie Riley and David Klansek.
After his military service, he worked as an Electrical Technician with the Scranton School District for twenty years. From 1969 to 2008, Al volunteered as a baseball umpire and basketball referee in both Pennsylvania and Arizona.
Al graduated from Scranton High School in 1961. He was the son of Adolph Klansek and Joya Romeo of Scranton, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, Saint Jude’s Hospital, or Shriner’s Hospital in Al’s memory. A private memorial service will be held at the AZ National Cemetery handled by Messinger Mortuaries in Fountain Hills, AZ. An online guest book will be available.
