I recently wrote a letter to The Times headlined “Hateful” by the editor. It was meant to evoke some inward looking by the Obama haters and perhaps see the hypocrisy of their beliefs and actions.
I am disappointed that I only had four responses and these were by people who profess not to be Obama haters but Obama policy haters, a weak subterfuge. If you are not a “hater,” then why respond? They then repeated all the tired rhetoric of the right wing: half truths, facts pulled out of thin air, outright lies, to the point of nausea.
One respondent evaded the “separation of church and state” issue. For his information, I have read the Constitution and it says that Congress shall pass no law establishing a national religion. In the space I have remaining I list some of the accomplishments of the Obama administration, to date, while dealing with the Party of No in Congress.

1. Killed Osama Bin Laden
2. Removed all combat troops from Iraq
3. New Start Treaty reduces nuclear stockpiles in Russia and the U.S.
4. Created over 2 1/2 million jobs while in office
5. The Credit Card Bill of Rights outlaws hidden fees and deceptive loan practices.
6. Saved the American auto industry and its millions of jobs
7. Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to protect another economic crisis
8. The Food Safety Modernization Act mandates the FDA to prevent rather than respond to food contamination
9. The Affordable Care Act established universal health care for the first time
10. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided hundreds of billions of dollars into infrastructure, research and job creation.
I don’t hate you. I hate your policies and beliefs. Have a nice day in this great country!
