A little of this and a little of that

There certainly was ideal weather for the annual Thanksgiving Day parade.

I had a jacket on and it actually got too warm to wear it by the time we reached the end of the route.

I remember many a morning where we froze awaiting the start of the parade.

There certainly was ideal weather for the annual Thanksgiving Day parade.

I had a jacket on and it actually got too warm to wear it by the time we reached the end of the route.

I remember many a morning where we froze awaiting the start of the parade.

There seemed to be more of a crowd along Palisades Boulevard and less along Saguaro Boulevard than I’ve seen in recent years. There were far fewer people sitting on the median along Saguaro. And I figured more people park near the end of the parade route at Parkview and La Montana if they have a friend or family member in the parade. Then they would sit along Palisades to view the parade.

Those were my thoughts anyway.

The River of Time Museum has a special weekend coming up.

Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, the museum is hosting the annual Holiday Open House. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and there is no admission charge.

In addition, there are free punch and cookies and holiday music. On Saturday, there will be a bake sale and the children can have their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus,

The Holiday Mart is open throughout the holiday season and offers a variety of gift items for sale.

The nomination form for the Lower Verde Valley Hall of Fame that was in last week’s edition contains some wrong information. The correct mailing address to return the completed forms is c/o Barbara Hansen, 16929 E. Salida Drive, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.

They should not be returned to the P.O Box listed on the form that ran in the newspaper. The form that was distributed at various locations around town is correct.

The form that appears in this week’s edition of The Times is correct.

I mentioned earlier how good the weather was on Thanksgiving. The high that day was in the mid 70s and we had an extended run of those temperatures. But that will be coming to an end as of this week.

There was a chance of rain in the forecast for Wednesday evening, followed by three days when the high temperatures will be in the mid 50s.
