Well little Camden, our newest grandson, who was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot, had his first procedure done last week.
He had a stent implanted in his heart and he came through the procedure with flying colors. He’s now being fed by bottle and there’s a chance he may get to go home later this week.

Where is the time going? Here we are in the first week of March already. It just seems like yesterday we were getting ready for Christmas. Now here we are almost a quarter of the way to the next one.

There was a good turnout for the Theodore Roosevelt presentation last Friday night. More than 100 people attended the approximately 90-minute oration by Joe Wiegand, who portrayed the 26th President of the United States.
He intermixed with the crowd and did a very believable impersonation of the beloved president known as “Teddy.”

Martin Dawson, owner of Arizona Propane, hosted a retirement party for one of his longtime employees, Bob Evans, last Saturday evening at the company offices on Shea Boulevard.
Evans came to Fountain Hills from Ohio in 1976 and operated Buckboard Plumbing for a number of years in the community.
He served two terms on the School Board and was one of the leaders in making the controversial switch of high school students from Mesa to Coronado High School in Scottsdale.
Two years of flooding conditions whereby all crossings except the Mill Avenue Bridge across the Salt River were closed at times causing two hour bus rides each way for students, prompted the decision.
Evans went to work for Dawson in 1983 and now 31 years later, he and wife Melanie plan to do some traveling in their motor home.

That was some rain we had on Saturday. The weekend total for rain we recorded at the office was 2.85 inches. It hadn’t rained in town since we had .70 of an inch on Dec. 20.

For those of you who travel a lot, did you see that Sky Harbor International Airport is cutting parking rates at its terminal garages by nearly 50 percent for travelers who pay in advance.
The prepaid price for the garages in Terminals 2, 3 and 4, a least initially, is $13 a day instead of $25. There is a $2 service fee per reservation. Reservations and payment can be made up to six months in advance of travel.
Reservations can be made at skyharbor.com.

In closing this week, I want to congratulate the girls varsity basketball team for winning the Division III State Championship Saturday night.
That follows up the girls soccer team’s state title just two weeks earlier.
