A lack of respect shown by the Fountain Hills Town Council

OPINION – The purpose of this letter is to identify in writing the lack of respect in the existing town council’s decisions that were made at a recent meeting and how they will impact the future of our community.

I will direct myself first as a diplomat regarding the English language-only vote which passed at the same town council meeting. As ambassador of the Diplomatic Corps of Arizona, an organization comprised of 32 nations, it appears those nations that are represented in the state of Arizona will reflect on this vote as an insult, as many of their constituents depend for their livelihood on their native language and also may apply to their culture, which will also affect our  Native American nations.

The other vote  regarding disallowing the three-minute call to the public is, in my opinion, a slap in the face to our residents. As a former councilmember, my record will reflect my consistent  actions and decisions which allowed residents to offer their opinions to our town council during very sensitive times.
