The Fountain Hills High School girls soccer team ended its regular season with another huge shutout.

The Lady Falcons played Horizon Honors on Jan. 29 and won the match handily, 11-0.

Moving into the postseason, Fountain Hills will have their first match of the playoffs today, Feb. 6, against Chandler Prep.

The game starts at 6 p.m. and will be at Fountain Hills High School.

Head coach Matt Wiehl said he was happy with the teamwork he saw during the Lady Falcons’ last regular season match.

“Several of our goals were preceded with one- and two-touch passing combinations,” Wiehl said. “(The game) was another nice team effort which was great to see as we now head into the postseason.”

The Lady Falcons’ leading scorer of the night was Midfielder Rori Smith with a hat trick, but nearly all of the players netted a goal including Ashby Owen, Ali McAuliff, Morgan Soloman and Lindsey McMahon.

One of the most impressive Falcons on the field was goalkeeper Bayley Dumitrescu, who was able to pull off another shutout to bring her total to six this season.
