The Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board is holding its first meeting of 2019 in the District Learning Center tonight, Jan. 9, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will begin with the election of board members to new officer positions.
After the election and hearing informational reports, the board will vote to offer current superintendent Dr. Robert Allen a three-year contract.
The board offered Allen the superintendent position temporarily last April when they were unable to decide on a replacement for retiring Superintendent, Dr. Patrick Sweeny.
Along with hiring Allen as the superintendent the board created the position of Director of Instructional Report to assist Allen throughout the year. It is unknown if that position will be retained.
