Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies received a report on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from a resident in the 13700 N. Block of Fountain Hills Blvd.

The victim reported that he left his vehicle unlocked with the keys and his wallet inside and the vehicle was only unattended for approximately 20 minutes. During that time someone entered his vehicle and stole his keys and his wallet.

The victim contacted his bank and found that an unknown person had already made four transactions at a local grocery store totaling $650.

*On Monday, Sept. 9, a resident of the 14800 block of Calle Del Prado reported that she had gone to the DMV to register a vehicle. She was informed by the DMV that someone had attempted to obtain a driver’s license in her name in April 2019, as well as used her information to attempt to purchase a vehicle. She was informed that an investigator from DPS has already been assigned. They instructed her to also report this to the law enforcement in her local jurisdiction.

*On Sunday, Sept. 8, a resident of the 15500 block of Palisades reported she had several attempted fraudulent charges on her credit card to a couple of different businesses. She also found that money had been transferred into her savings account and then attempts to withdraw the money were made unsuccessfully. The victim believes her information may have been compromised recently when she allowed an unknown company who called her to remote into her computer to make some repairs. The victim reported that she trusted this company because she had used them about two years ago under similar circumstances and had a positive experience. She allowed them to remote into the computer at that time and then paid the company for the work and additional monitoring.

*On Monday, Sept. 9, a complainant in the 16800 block of Ave of the Fountains reported a theft of narcotic prescription drugs from a residence. It is believed an elderly male subject residing in the home with Alzheimer’s may have accidentally taken the medication believing it was his prescription medication.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a woman called from the 16400 block of Avenue of the Fountains to report that an unknown person removed two checks from her purse valued at $10,000. Adult children of the victim informed law enforcement that their mother suffers from dementia and oftentimes misplaces the checks and they typically locate them a short time later.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a resident of the 16700 block of Avenue of the Fountains reported leaving her wallet on the table of an establishment and observed a female subject grab the wallet and exit the business. The victim provided a possible name of the suspect and the investigation in ongoing.

*On Saturday, Sept. 7, a resident of the 17000 block of Aloe Drive reported that an unknown suspect damaged the rear window to his vehicle. This was discovered when he was leaving his residence and the rear window shattered while exiting his driveway.

*On Monday, Sept. 9, deputies responded to the 15900 block of Brodiea Drive where a victim reported that she is a temporary resident to Fountain Hills and while she was gone she hired several companies to complete work in her home. When she returned to her home in Fountain Hills, it appeared someone had been using her residence to live in and she found some minor damage inside the home and the key to the home in a different location than where it should have been. There were no signs of forced entry and it appeared that whoever was using the home had obtained the key.

*On Thursday, Sept. 5, deputies received a report from a woman saying that an unknown person left a fake parking citation on the window of her vehicle as she was parked at a fast food restaurant. The fake citation contained inappropriate language and the female was afraid that she was being stalked by someone.

*On Friday, Sept. 6, a resident reported that she received a voicemail from a male subject claiming to be a lieutenant with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. When she returned the phone call, the person told her that she and her husband had missed jury duty. The complainant identified this as a potential scam and hung up the phone and reported the incident.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a store employee reported that an unknown male subject attempted to load money onto a reloadable Visa card, however the card transaction informed that the card was reported as stolen. The subject left the store and the employee reported the incident to MCSO.

*On Wednesday, Sept. 11, deputies received several calls about a possible suspicious package in the intersection at Saguaro and Grande Boulevards. Deputies discovered a milk crate with mechanic supplies inside that possibly fell out of a vehicle traveling through the intersection.

*On Thursday, Sept. 5, deputies patrolling at Avenue of the Fountains and Saguaro Boulevard stopped a driver for failing to stop at the stop sign. The driver lied to deputies about his name and date of birth and was later found to have several outstanding arrest warrants out of the city of Mesa. The subject was charged with false information to law enforcement and for a DUI after it was learned he was under the influence of marijuana. The driver was booked into jail on the charges.

*On Thursday, Sept. 5, deputies responded to a collision in the 14400 block of El Pueblo Blvd. A motorist admitted to being distracted while driving and striking a concrete mailbox fixture. The driver was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant and was booked on the warrant. He was also cited for the collision. No injuries were reported.

*On Thursday, Sept. 5, deputies responded to a reported collision at Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards. A driver was stopped at the intersection for a red light and believed the light had turned green and accelerated, which resulted in the driver rear-ending the vehicle in front that was still stopped for the red light. The driver who rear-ended the other vehicle was cited for the collision. No injuries were reported.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 10, a driver reported that as she travelled on Palisades, she hit a water valve that was missing the plate near Crestview Drive which caused both her front and rear driver side tires to go flat. The water company was contacted by the driver and the missing plate replaced. No injuries were reported.

*On Wednesday, Sept. 11, a driver reported that she was turning from Eagle Mountain Parkway onto Shea Blvd. when another vehicle ran the red light and struck her vehicle. She said that when they pulled over to exchange information, the other driver blamed her and became belligerent and left without providing the required information. There were no injuries reported.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, deputies responded to the 15000 block of Zapata for a single vehicle accident. The crash resulted when a driver became distracted and struck a fixed mailbox fixture to a residence. No injuries were reported.

*On Friday, Sept. 6, a vehicle attempted to turn left onto Palisades from Sunflower Dr. and did not see a vehicle that was already traveling on Palisades. The two vehicles collided, causing one of the vehicles to roll over and trap the driver inside until fire personnel arrived on scene. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This was previously reported incorrectly in The Times as a single vehicle crash.

*On Sunday, Sept. 8, deputies responded to the 15600 block of Tepee Dr. where a driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a mailbox fixture and a parked vehicle at the residence. The driver admitted that speed likely was a factor in the collision. A female passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver was cited for the collision.
