River of Time hires firm to stage fundraiser
Posted
The River of Time Museum has contracted with “Museum Pros” of Chandler to coordinate the “Taste of the P-Bar Ranch” annual fundraising event.
The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, in the Community Center. Tickets are $35.
Museum executive director Cherie Koss said the decision to bring on a professional fundraiser was made in part to try to increase the scope of the event to include more participation and visibility Valley-wide.
Michelle Reid, Museum Services director and owner of Museum Pros, brings more than 25 years of experience. She was executive director of Rosson House in Phoenix for the past six years during which time she more than tripled the number of donors to the museum.
She and her team specialize in providing professional resources to small museums to help them achieve their goals.
Reid will work with the museum’s volunteers to increase fundraiser revenues and identity other sources.
The evening will feature food offerings, auction of donated items and services, music and a repeat visit by Henry Pemberton, the original settler on the P-Bar Ranch land.
All proceeds will support increased programming and exhibit renovations at the L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum.
Dinner sponsors
Local businesses are encouraged to become sponsors for the museum’s major fundraiser dinner.
The Cimarron Sidekicks and Hob Nob Catering have signed on as the first sponsors.
Residents who may have contacts with businesses to donate airline miles or resort stays for the auction are encouraged to contact Koss at director@rotmuseum.org or call 480-837-2612 during museum hours, 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Summer Camp
Youngsters between the ages of seven and 10 will explore Sonoran desert animals and their habitats during the museum’s interactive day camp from 1 to 3 p.m., June 11, 12 and 13.
Docents, staff and volunteers trained in providing quality, interpretive programming in a safe environment will staff the sessions.
Registration forms will be emailed to Fountain Hills youth in grades two through four and can also be found in the museum.
The cost is $40 for museum members and $45 for non-members. Scholarships are available.
