Jack Wendell and retirement are not synonymous.

Long-time car dealer Wendell, now 95, has come out of retirement for the fifth time.

“I like to keep busy. I like my old friends,” said Wendell.

Joining him in the latest venture is his wife, Joann, and manager, George Pavelich. Their office is in Palisades Business Center, 16930 E. Palisades Blvd., suite 102.

“It’s important to have good merchandise,” said Wendell. “If we don’t have what’s you’re looking for, we’ll find it.”

Operating a business based on his 18-year reputation as being the “working man’s friend,” Wendell said he offers “something for everyone.”

Vehicles usually fall in the $3,000 to $30,000 price category. His current inventory includes a 2015 RX 350 Lexus (SUV) with low mileage and a 2005 Lexus 330, also low mileage.

He purchases vehicles at auctions and through private owners.

Wendell started his career in the 1950s in northern California. His first dealership was in Sacramento in 1979, followed by five General Motors and Subaru businesses.

He moved to Scottsdale in 1986 where he sold cars. He relocated to Fountain Hills in 2001.

His business operates under the umbrella of (Guy) Cannon Cars. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Sundays by appointment.

Wendell can be contacted by calling 480-310-2207 or cell 480-203-5102.
