Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills were called by a resident of the 9700 block of Monterey Drive on Wednesday, June 12, reporting a burglary from a vehicle.

The victim reported that between 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, and 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday someone got into her vehicle and took two purses containing money, credit and debit cards. One card was used at a Circle K for $220.

The vehicle may have been left unlocked as there was no sign of forced entry.

*On Thursday, June 6, deputies arrested a subject during the investigation of a traffic accident. There was a misdemeanor warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

*On Monday, June 10, a resident of the 16400 block of Avenue of the Fountains reported someone stole an iPad from her room while she was sleeping.

*On Thursday, June 6, deputies received a report that someone had made two unauthorized transactions against a victim’s bank account in the amount of $10 and $2,000.

*On Thursday, June 6, deputies received a report of a theft from a local grocery store and, when a clerk followed the suspect out, they got into a vehicle driven by another person who had previously been trespassed from the store.

*On Sunday, June 9, a resident of the 16700 block of Gunsight Drive reported someone removed four to six pieces of jewelry from their residence valued at more than $15,000. The victim could provide no suspect information.

*On Tuesday, May 11, a resident of the 16700 block of Avenue of the Fountains reported an unknown suspect entered their home through an unlocked door and removed several personal items including several checks from a checkbook.

*On Wednesday, June 12, a resident of the 17400 block of Calico Drive reported two trees that had just been planted were stolen from the property. The value is $100.

*On Saturday, June 8, deputies received a call from a resident of the 16200 block of Trevino Drive saying his remote doorbell notified him someone was present and he saw a suspect he believed was taking a package from his front door. The victim called back to say the package was there when he arrived home and he believes the person may have been making the delivery.

*On Monday, June 10 a resident of the 14900 block of Lowden reported receiving a collection notice on a cable account he had not opened and believed his identity had been stolen.

*On Wednesday, June 12, a man reported his business email was being used to notify clients of outstanding invoices and asking for payment to an unknown account. At least one client had wired payment.

*On Wednesday, June 12, deputies received a report that three shoplifting suspects were confronted by a shop employee in the 16700 block of El Pueblo and one suspect brandished a knife at the victim and the suspects left without further incident.

*On Saturday, June 8, deputies received a report that someone had broken into a vacant business building for sale in the 16800 block of Palisades Blvd. and caused damage to drywall and broken mirrors.

*On Monday, June 10, a deputy stopped a subject for a moving traffic violation at Saguaro and Grande boulevards and found the driver to be intoxicated and driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI.

*On Sunday, June 9, a Salt River Project employee working in the 16400 block of Arroyo Vista reported smoke coming from an electrical panel and cut power. The fire department found no fire damage.

*On Thursday, June 6, a motorist was slowing to turn into a driveway in the 13200 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. when they were struck from behind by another vehicle.

*On Friday, June 7, a construction truck stopped at Fountain Hills Blvd. and Cholla Drive began backing up and struck a vehicle stopped behind it.

*On Tuesday, June 11, two vehicles collided while merging at Palisades and Shea boulevards.

*On Saturday, June 8, there was a minor injury resulting from a single vehicle accident on Shea Boulevard near Arista Drive. The vehicle drifted off the roadway and struck the guardrail.

With hot weather here, deputies say they are receiving reports of pets being left in vehicles. MCSO is reminding people that no one, including pets, should be left in a vehicle in hot weather, even if the air conditioning is running.

Arizona state law now allows passers-by to access a vehicle to rescue a person or pet without liability for damage, according to MCSO.
