The Town Council will consider a new contract to Republic Services for residential curbside solid waste collection and recycling collection for the Town of Fountain Hills.

Republic has had the contract in Fountain Hills since 2011 and this will continue existing services.

New rates were not posted with the preliminary agenda provided for publication. That information should be posted to the town website later this week.

The council will also consider two proposed budget transfers, one in the amount of $44,413 to Development Services for personnel expenses to allow for additional third-party inspection services.

The second transfer is to the Town Clerk in the amount of $11,827.50. This is to allow for part-time salaries from professional services for the use of a temporary employee.

The council will also consider an ordinance amendment delayed from a December meeting. The proposed amendment deals with large, detached accessory buildings within some single family, residential zoning districts.

The council will hear a presentation and hold a public hearing on the Development Impact Fee Final Report for Fiscal Years 2017 and 2018.

The council will consider a resolution authorizing an application and acceptance of an Arizona Lottery Fund grant.

The council will consider replacement and an upgrade of Fountain lights located around the shoreline of Fountain Lake.

The agenda also includes recognition of MCSO Deputy Chief Henry Brandimarte, who served as commander for District 7 in Fountain Hills.

Republic Services will make its presentation of community grant money to Fearless Kitty Rescue.

The council will also hear a presentation on the status of the old Fire Station #2 property and other related matters.

Mayor Ginny Dickey will have a proclamation designating January as Mentor Month in Fountain Hills.

The Town Council meets on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

This story is based on information from a preliminary agenda provided to The Times. The agenda is subject to change up to the legal posting time of 24 hours before the scheduled time of the meeting.
