The carts at Desert Canyon Golf Course are ready to go for the upcoming Fountain Hills Elks Charity Golf Tournament Saturday, May 4.
All proceeds from the golf event fund scholarships for continuing education for Fountain Hills seniors, homeless veterans and community projects, according to a press release.
The Fountain Hills Elks Club is hoping again to have special participation by the Fountain Hills golf team to help raise funds to support the local youth golf program, the release said.
This is a fun and friendly golf tournament for all levels of golf, the release added.
There are three flights: men’s, women’s and co-ed. All four par three holes will have a hole-in-one prize, one of which is $10,000.
There are many on-course games as well as raffles, 50/50 and a silent auction.
The price to play in the tournament is $125 which includes a cart and lunch.
The golf tournament is a four-person, best-ball scramble with everyone having a chance at contributing to their team’s success.
Check-in time is 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and a limit of 120 players.
Spots go fast so those interested in participating are invited to register early, the release added.
Golfers are needed, however, for those who do not wish to participate but still want to give, donations of $50, $250 or $500 (sponsor of $10,000 hole) are accepted. Donors are provided with a hole sponsorship and personal sign.
For questions or more information and to register, call Russ Bonaquidi at 480-209-8623 or stop by the Elks Lodge at 16766 E. Parkview Ave. any Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
The Elks Lodge opens at 5 p.m.
Following the tournament, a lunch party is held at the new Lodge building at 16726 E. El Pueblo Blvd. The community is invited to come check out the new location and enjoy the extra space and party.
