There was a nice write-up last week about high school teacher Alison Mecom and middle school teacher Chris Peterson both being the winner in their respective category of the VFW Post 7507 Teacher of the Year.
One fact not noted was that Chris Peterson was also the second runner-up (third place) in the State of Arizona VFW's Teacher of the Year program, having advanced from the post to the district and onto the state VFW competition. Being awarded the VFW Post 7507's Teacher of the Year is an honor, but the competition gets even greater at the district and much more so at the state level.
Congratulations to both Alison Mecom and Chris Peterson.
