Fountain Hills Republican Club meets Saturday, April 20 when four candidates seeking office will present.
Posted
The Fountain Hills Republican Club (FHRC) announced its keynote speakers for the FHRC general membership meeting Saturday, April 20.
The speakers are U.S. Representative David Schweikert, incumbent and candidate for the same office; Sheriff Mark Lamb, candidate for U.S. Senate; and Rachel Walden and Rene Lopez, both candidates for the Arizona Corporation Commission.
All other candidates and elected officials present will also have the opportunity to speak briefly to the assembled club members, says Boe James, FHRC vice president and program committee chair.
Candidates typically stay around after the meeting to converse with members individually or in small groups.
The FHRC meeting is held at the Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive, starting at 9 a.m., with a registration meet and greet/social period starting at 8:30 a.m.
Looking ahead, James says the May 18 club meeting will feature Kari Lake, Gina Godbehere and Don Hiatt, as the keynote speakers and candidates for U.S. Senate, county attorney and county recorder respectively.
Other candidates are expected to be present.
GOP Social planned
The club is planning a GOP Social at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Parkview Tap House, 16828 Parkview Ave.
This is a no-host event with no exact start or finish time. As is the case with all FHRC events, all Republicans and like-minded Independents are invited to come socialize with fellow conservatives and to bring a friend or neighbor.
Everybody is welcome, without regard to club membership, James said, adding that candidates typically present and speak to individuals or small groups, but no speeches to the entire group have been allowed as this is a social event.
