Fountain Hills Music Fest going Country

Saturday, April 6, at Fountain Park

The annual Fountain Hills Music Fest is going to have a country theme this year with three bands performing at Fountain Park this coming Saturday, April 6, from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

This night of live music will open at 5 p.m. with Scott and Sabrina Band. At 6:30 p.m. Western Fusion will perform through 7:30 p.m. Sam Riggs closes out the festival performing from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Promotional materials on the bands offers insight into what the local audience can expect at Music Fest.

Singers, songwriters, performers, and composers, Scott and Sabrina Perry, are a modern country duo from Northern Arizona with vocals and soulful harmonies that take the listener on a journey.

Western Fusion was formed in the late ‘90s by band leader Brian Childress. Today the standard five piece band covers country artists including George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Keith Urban, Old Dominion and Cody Johnson.

A sense of daring is a key element in Sam Riggs’ brand of country, a rock-infused sound with a chip on its shoulder from a guy who counts Garth Brooks, Foo Fighters, Eric Church and A Day To Remember among his influences.

A St. Cloud, Fla., native, Riggs’ career took off after he set welding aside and quit college in a series of events he calls “the ultimate gamble.” His risky nature and rebel spirit show through in the music, and that no-fear approach to life is quickly setting him apart. A growing audience has found him.

Music Fest has something for the whole family with a Kids’ Zone, food trucks and a beer (Bone Haus Brewing) and wine (Grapeables Wine Bar) garden.
