Election season is over, the holidays are behind us and newly-elected officials are assuming their positions. Yes, politics isn’t always pretty. Yes, sometimes people just choose to tune out, ignoring the debate. Regardless, I encourage you to stay aware and involved.

Whether you like it or not, whether you choose to recognize it or not, what the politicians do or don’t do does affect all of us in one way or another, directly or indirectly. Staying alert to what is going on in government and making your opinions known can and does make a difference. It’s better to at least try to be part of the conversation and hopefully steer the outcome.

Politics is local, and Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party is a convenient, local way to stay involved and communicate with our elected officials. On Thursday evening, January 17, we return from our post-election and Christmas holiday hiatus and will get back to work. Our guests will be our Arizona legislators: State Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita, State Representative John Kavanagh and State Representative Jay Lawrence. They will provide a preview of the upcoming legislative session. There will also be ample opportunity to ask your questions.

Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party will meet at Fountain Hills Unified School District Learning Center (Northeast corner of Golden Eagle and Palisades) starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17. Admission is free and all interested parties are invited. Please join us and visit fhteaparty.us for more information.
