Strategic Plan

Unraveling the reprioritization of the Town of Fountain Hills strategic plan has turned out to be a somewhat tricky business. As it turns out, the overarching goals were not altered from the previous plan, as reported in the March 27 edition of The Times. Instead, pre-established tasks within those goals have received fresh focus based on the community’s current needs.

In other words, the 2017 Strategic Plan hasn’t actually been altered, but the Strategic Planning Advisory Commission is recommending the Town Council focus its attention on certain key areas moving ahead.

To better illustrate this, we encourage you to hop on to fh.az.gov. Highlight the “Your Government” tab at the top of the page. In the drop-down menu, you’ll see a heading for “Boards & Commissions.” Click on “Strategic Planning Advisory Commission.”

At the bottom of this new page is a link for “Fountain Hills Strategic Plan 2017 (PDF).” Click on that link to open the document.

While the plan is from 2017, the recent reprioritizations are included. In short, anything highlighted blue has been recommended to receive higher prioritization moving forward, with everything highlighted in yellow deemed the highest importance.

If you read the items highlighted in yellow, you will have a better understanding of what the SPAC recommends Town Council give top priority to moving forward, a plan that was passed unanimously at a recent meeting. After that, you can focus on the blue priorities to better understand what will be receiving the secondary focus. Anything that isn’t highlighted is considered lower priority at this time.
