Turkey Trot, Parade Thanksgiving Day events

Thanksgiving Day activities in Fountain Hills began at sunrise with the annual Turkey Trot 5K and One Mile Fun Run followed by the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade down Saguaro Boulevard and up Palisades Boulevard.
Alan Hagerman of Flagstaff was the 5K overall winner and Sophie Shunk of Fountain Hills was first among the women competitors.
KDK Dance of Fountain Hills was judged Best of Show parade entry, also winning the Best Church/Children’s entry.
Other parade winners included VFW USS Arizona replica as Best Motorized entry; Fountain Hills High School Marching Band as Best Marching Unit; Four Peaks Rotary for Best Civic/Business float; and Wells Fargo for Best Equestrian Unit.
