Nearby pools open to public
Posted
The weather is finally starting to get hot and the kids are out of school, so it’s time to figure out how to keep them from losing their cool.
There are no public swimming pools in Fountain Hills, but one does not have to travel far to enjoy the experience.
The City of Scottsdale has two of its aquatic and fitness centers within easy distance from Fountain Hills. McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic and Fitness Center is located at 15525 N. Thompson Peak Parkway. It is open 1 to 5 p.m. for public swim. There is also a splash pad at this facility.
The cost for non-Scottsdale residents is $6 for kids and $9 for adults. A season pass is $240.
The Cactus Aquatic and Fitness Center is located at 7202 E. Cactus Road near Scottsdale Road. It is open starting June 10, from 12 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The cost for non-Scottsdale residents is $3 for kids and $5 for adults.
Of course everyone is invited to cool off closer to home at the Rotary Splash Pad in Fountain Park. It is open 9 a.m. to sunset every day, and is free of charge.
