Would our Fountain Hills residents really not mind if Fountain Park became like today's Venice Beach, Calif.?
Homelessness is a complicated crisis. However, personally, I appreciate Town Council members who realize nobody really wins when something degrading happens to any community. I appreciate it when a council member is willing to suffer any abuse he or she receives when responsibly and legally safeguarding citizens.
Generalized suggestions involving passivity, government “help,” and virtue signaling are dangerous alternatives since proponents are made to feel good without actually having to personally sacrifice anything. If residents truly want to help individual needy people, please donate your personal money and time to trustworthy private organizations in and out of town.
