Couture: “No thanks” to Skillicorn and the Goldwater Institute

Posted

Here is a clear message to Councilman Skillicorn, his friends, and a spokesperson from the Goldwater Institute: Stay out of Fountain Hills government.

By a 6-1 vote on April 16, Skillicorn's anti-DEI proposal failed. He was attempting to eliminate current and future town practices of diversity, equity and inclusion, known as DEI. Guess who the "1" vote was.

For over a year now, Skillicorn has been trying to reshape our town — to the detriment of its residents, business owners, town staff and its many contractors. His words and methods are mean, divisive and political. Online, he is insensitive. His ideas are often ill-advised. He often tries to mislead and create dissension on the council. He’s not acting like a representative leader.

I'm glad the council said no to Skillicorn.

Let’s keep saying “no thanks” to Councilman Skillicorn and his shady backers from the Goldwater Institute. We will decide our own town policies; not accept those prepared by a state PAC.
