Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she ever met, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015, with her husband, Charles Chamness, and brother-in-law, Carl Chamness, at her side.
Shirley was born on March 3, 1944 in Tampa, Fla. and moved to Fountain Hills with her husband Charles in 1996. She was a business owner and homemaker and was adored by everyone she came in contact with.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Charles Clifton Chamness III; a sister, Virginia Francis Blanton; and two brothers, Marion (Sonny) Bishop and Donald Bishop.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Clifton Chamness Jr.; sons, Jacob Chamness and Michael Chamness; as well as a granddaughter, Samantha Chamness, whom she and her husband Charles adopted as their own.
Additional survivors include eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glenda Bishop of Margate, Fla. and Betty Faber of Hollywood, Fla.; and two brothers, Gerald Bishop of Margate, Fla. and Leroy Bishop of Salem, Fla.
At her request there will be no viewing or funeral service, but the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to breast cancer research or Hospice of the Valley.
