Milestone Sculpture Art Tour
The Milestone Sculpture Tours are the latest exploration experience launched by the River of Time. Named in honor of former Mayor Jerry Miles and his wife Jackie Miles, the two were instrumental in establishing Fountain Hills Public Arts which features the world-famous art installations located in Centennial Park, just outside the main entrance of the River of Time, a press release read.
During this guided walking tour, participants will learn about the artist, the production techniques and the stories behind some of the pieces in the collection.
Tours run from October through April and are offered on the second Wednesday and fourth Saturday of each month, beginning at 10 a.m.
Indigenous Food and Culture Day at River of Time
Join the River of Time for an event to kick off Native American Indigenous Peoples Month in November and to celebrate the history and culture of the FMYN tribe.
Held Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., this event will feature artists and musicians from the FMYN tribe along with native food vendors.
Families can create beaded bracelets and petroglyph stories.
Admission is free and open to all.
Roots and Remedies: Native Plants as Food and Medicine
The Indigenous Food and Culture Day will also launch the newest pop-up exhibit, “Roots and Remedies: Native Plants as Food and Medicine,” highlighting the diverse uses of Arizona native desert plants as sources of food and medicine.
Interactive displays encourage visitors to discover the plants found in their own town and ways they might use them in their daily lives.
The exhibit will be on display through December 31, 2024.
