U.S. Representative David Schweikert (AZ D-1) has announced his decision to seek the office of Governor of Arizona in the 2026 election, which is confirmed through numerous media reports.
In February this year Schweikert filed a statement of interest with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office to seek another term in the U.S. House. However, in an interview with Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services, Schweikert expressed a good deal of frustration with the gridlock in Congress and the inability to get anything done.
“It’s more than frustration,” Schweikert said. “I am at a point where I am livid all the time and come home angry.
