Copeland: Reader responds to Whitfield letter on Trump, Vance

Posted

I would like to respond to Ferris Whitfield’s letter in the Sept. 19 edition of the Daily Independent: Trump, Vance words are bullets to most who hear, read them.

Bully for you, Ms. Whitfield, for enjoying the free stimulus checks. I did not get a single stimulus check, so I guess I was one of the people who helped pay for your free money. Or didn’t you think anyone had to pay for it? It sounds like Socialism to me — take from the rich and give to the poor — my government is not supposed to be Robin Hood.

You can understand why I might not be happy with this program. To hear Kamala Harris talk about her “giveaway programs,” you’d think money grows on trees. Does she tell how she plans to pay for these programs?  If she’s elected, next year you may be one of the payers, not the receivers.

I would like to see the USA go back to securing our borders and restoring legal immigration again.

And, if we hadn’t aborted so many children in the past, maybe we would have had a decent candidate to run for president this year.

“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.” Hosea 8:7, KJV
