I’m pleased to write in support of the planned amendments to the Peoria General Plan 2024 related to Smart Growth. The long-term vision outlined by the city relating to future development promises to bring more economic development opportunities to the city and region and significantly enhance quality of life for residents.
With a growing population, modern infrastructure and amenities, and adjacent available land, the city of Peoria offers businesses an attractive value proposition for expansion. I applaud the city’s thoughtful, comprehensive approach to future development, especially relating to the North Peoria Gateway and the Peoria Innovation Core. Pursuing a cohesive, transparent plan for these developments ensures smart, sustainable growth that is attractive to residents and businesses alike.
The city of Peoria has been a valued partner of the ACA’s efforts to grow high-value industries in Arizona, supporting the addition of more high-wage jobs for Arizona residents. We are grateful for the city’s proactive, engaged leadership and especially thank Mayor Beck for his partnership and thoughtful vision for the city.
We also are proud to partner with the Arizona State Land Department on a regular basis and appreciate the department’s role to support responsible economic development. The proposed partnership between the city and State Land Department represents an important next step in the city and region’s promising economic development future.
Arizona’s growing economy has catalyzed exciting opportunities throughout our state, including those related to small business growth, residential enhancements, infrastructure and public safety upgrades, and more. We look forward to partnering with city leaders and the business community to advance smart economic development in the region and bring more opportunities to residents.
