Rob Deer baseball camps set
Posted
Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation will host former Major League Baseball player Rob Deer and his youth baseball camp later this month.
The camp meets Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is for kids ages seven through 16. The cost is $125 and the clinic meets at Golden Eagle Park.
Deer hit 230 homeruns during his Major League career and was featured on the cover of the April 27, 1987, edition of Sports Illustrated. His coaching experience includes hitting coach with the Chicago Cubs and hitting coordinator with the San Diego Padres.
These camps are geared toward young baseball players who wish to improve their skills and receive top-notch instruction from former Major League players and coaches. Each camp will feature special guests.
Pre-registration is required. Register online for Course #4156 at fh.az.gov/recreation, in person at Town Hall or at the Community Center.
