Registration open for VFW golf tournament

VFW Post 7507 is now accepting registration of golfers for its annual golf tournament, recently renamed the Ralph Truax Memorial VFW Golf Tournament in honor of this recently deceased life-member who has been associated with the golf tournament since its inception.

The tournament takes place Saturday, Nov. 17, at Starfire Golf Club with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee of $95 per player includes the golf, cart, luncheon, awards ceremony and special contests/events.

Interested parties are invited to join the post for a day to support local veterans. On top of lunch, a raffle and auction, the event will feature a $100,000 shootout; a scratch card game – win Omaha steaks; a hole in one contest – win trip for two to Pebble Beach; two closest-to-the-pin contests – win a $125 Birdie Box; a closest-to-the-line Contest – win a $125 Birdie Box; elite virtual gifts including over $4,000 in offers/gifts per player; and 18 holes of golf with cart.

The event is open to golfers and non-golfers. There will be two flights; Gold Flight includes ladies and folks over 70 and White Flight for foursomes other than Gold. Prizes will be awarded to the top two in each flight.
