The American Legion Post 58 works for months preparing for one of its biggest fundraisers.

Plans are well underway for the 24th annual golf tournament, set for Sunday, April 7. The event will be held at Desert Canyon Golf Club with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament features three flights: open, senior (combined age 260, minimum age 60) and co-ed (team must have at least two females. Entry fee is $80 per golfer. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes, performance awards, lunch at the American Legion and beverage.

If someone wants to play but does not have a foursome, the committee will place the golfer with a team.

When registering, golfers should indicate which flight they will play.

Hole sponsors are needed. Any individual, business or organization are invited to sponsor one of the 18 holes for $100 each.

Make checks payable to American Legion Post 58 and can be mailed to 16837 E. Parkview Ave., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.

Flight teams are eligible for cash awards. Major raffle awards include cash and other prizes. The raffles are open to golfers and non-golfers.

All proceeds benefit veteran charities.
