The Fountain Hills High School golf team competed at Orange Tree Golf Course last Wednesday, March 9. The Falcons are now ranked 29 of 49 teams.

The Falcons played Phoenix Country Day and Scottsdale Christian Academy. Senior Alex Schafer led the Falcons with a score of 43, and Schafer tied for sixth place. Sophomore Tom Tiebert was closest behind Schafer, and Tiebert scored 55 and tied for 11th place.

Senior Brandan Muhs scored 60 and tied for 13th place. Freshman Savannah Miller came in 16th place with a score of 65.

“Tough day on the course playing two of the top state teams,” head coach Bob Buczek said. “Everyone had some good, bad, and ugly holes out there. Season has just started so room to improve. I know the team will put the work in and will continue to support each other.”

The Falcons had a match at Eagle Mountain Golf Club this past Monday, March 14. They hosted Cicero Prep, Gregory School and Veritas Prep. Next Friday, March 25, the Falcons will travel to Payson to face the Longhorns, Scottsdale Christian and Show Low.
