Falcon tennis squad drops two matches

The Fountain Hills High School Tennis team finished the regular season with two team losses, but also with personal victories.

On Monday, April 15, FHHS went up against Phoenix Country Day School with both teams losing 9-0.

The next day, April 16, Falcon tennis played Scottsdale Prep. The boys team lost the match 8-1 and the girls lost 7-2.

Further comments were not provided by the coach as of press time.

PCDS

The boys team made its opponents work for their victories in Monday’s meet.

Kyle Richardson, in the ones spot, lost 6-0, 6-0.

Andrei Urda fell to his opponent in the twos position 6-3, 6-0, and Casey Timms in the threes spot lost 6-2, 6-4.

In the fours spot, Austin Berns put up a fight but lost 6-3, 6-1. Blake Anderson, in the fives position, lost 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles play, Richardson and Urda lost 8-1 and Timms and Anderson lost 8-0.

For the girls team, Rory Wilson lost 6-0, 6-0, Courtney Flynn lost 6-1, 6-0, Penny Enterline lost 6-0, 6-0 and Elise Quan also lost 6-0, 6-0.

In the doubles event, Wilson and Flynn lost 8-1 and Enterline and Quan lost 8-0.

Scottsdale Prep

In the boys’ match against Scottsdale Prep, Richardson lost again, 6-0 and 6-0. Urda also fell by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

Casey Timms lost his match 6-1, 6-0. In the fours spot, however, Berns won his match in three sets, 6-4, 3-6 and 10-8. Anderson lost his match 6-2, 6-2.

Both boys doubles pairings lost their match 8-1.

On the girls’ side of the court, Wilson lost her match 6-1, 6-0 and Flynn also lost 6-1, 6-2.

Quan, in the threes spot, won her match 6-4, 6-0 and Enterline, in the fours spot, won 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.

Wilson and Flynn fell to their doubles opponents by a score of 8-1 and Quan and Enterline lost 8-4.
