A writer asked what is with all the platitudes being tossed around. He states “be safe” is a main offender.

“Be safe” is a polite phrase, such as “good luck” or “take care.” There is no offense meant and surely no offense should be taken. The wish for another human being to “be safe” is a sentiment that should be appreciated. I agree that it is not good to live in a state of fear. I also believe it is not good to live in a state of anger.

After all, “it is what it is.”
