Out-of-town

Posted

The Fountain Hills economic development marketing brochure calls our town a true oasis in the Sonoran desert with miles of panoramic vistas and lush desert landscapes. Why would we want out-of-town developers to destroy the gateway into our town with buildings which do not fit the community and would create the biggest traffic safety issue in town? Why do we allow out-of-town developers to submit building applications that do not adhere to the town’s requirements following the General Plan?

It’s nice to see that we have hired people that can grow the business aspect of the many empty retail spaces which would help with tax revenue; but why would you reduce the economic development budget by 8.2 percent? This is an area that should require top priority! Try driving through town on Saturday mornings. Very sad, indeed.
