Integrity

This is a letter of support for Ginny Dickey, an experienced leader, but also knowledgeable of town needs, eager to learn and contribute more. Ginny is aware that sales tax and unfettered growth will not address our financial needs. Her views are diametric to Cecil Yates, who is trying to convince us his views are the best for our town.

She has no conflict of interest and wants to work with us on solutions that benefit all residents. Her plan addresses the council’s shaky trust issues, as noted in the Chamber survey, by ensuring that town activities are inclusive and transparent; demonstrating fiscal responsibility, focusing resources on infrastructure and public safety and protecting and enhancing lives in Fountain Hills.

She proposes forming a citizen’s oversight commission to identify the next steps for preserving our safe neighborhoods, views, outdoor life, great education and small-town charm. That’s not expanding government; it’s drawing us into decision-making as partners.

As a member of a town which most of us moved to for the uniqueness of a small community, I do not agree with Cecil Yates’ plans and question his ethics and motives. Wasn’t the commercial property company he works for granted the leasing contract for Park Place? Why are the ugly apartments four stories high and monstrous looking in our beautiful town? What kind of leadership does our community need? More Park Place and lagoon proposals or something clearly better? Please put integrity before the mechanisms of Mr. Yates.

Ginny Dickey is clearly the better choice, as she loves the town of Fountain Hills we all moved to before this current town council and all of its shenanigans.
